St. John Vianney Parish Pastoral Council is composed of nine parishioners as an advisory board to the Pastor. We support the Parish by identifying the needs of the parishioners. The needs of the parishioners have evolved since Covid. The Pastoral Council supports each of our four commissions and their specific ministry activities.
The Parish Finance Council is a consultative body "which is governed, in addition to universal law, by norms issued by the Diocesan Bishop and in which the Christian faithful, selected according to these same norms, are to assist the Pastor in the administration of the goods of the parish." (Code of Canon Law # 537). This council provides advice and guidance to the Pastor in the ordinary administration of parish assets and in the maintenance of the stable patrimony of the parish. The Council reviews the parish budget, financial statements and the annual year-end statement of income and expenditures. The Council also monitors the financial condition of the parish.
The Liturgy/Worship Commission is very active in enhancing Liturgy for the people of our parish. They host regularly-scheduled Adoration each year. These Adorations are “theme based” occurring for Thanksgiving, Advent, Lent and Pentecost. In addition, our parish now has the opportunity to pray The Stations of the Cross to enhance our Lenten Journeys.
The Faith Formation & Evangelization Commission plans and provides educational opportunities for our parishioners including the OCIA program (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults). This program enables teens and adults to learn about the Catholic Faith and become Catholic if they feel called to do so. They also plan many Adult Faith Formation opportunities throughout the year!
The Parish Life Commission was established in January 2025. This Commission is comprised of Social Committee, New Member Welcome Committee, Funeral Luncheon Committee, Grief Support Committee, Prayer Line Committee, and Prayer Shawl Committee. The Parish Life Commission is very active throughout the year, planning many parish events!
We are very fortunate at St. John Vianney Parish to have kind and generous parishioners who have donated to many agencies throughout the year. Please check the bulletin to see what organization we are supporting this month!
The mission of the St. John Vianney Tithing Allocation Committee is to provide stewardship of parish funds for service, charity and advocacy groups and organizations. The committee will seek and review proposals from organizations and make recommendations for funding consistent with the St. John Vianney mission and Christian responsibility for all peoples. Proposed funding will promote Christian values and provide for the needs of the poor.
